It's Official!

Just wanted to let you all know that we closed on the sale of our home and the purchase of the new home last night.  We are filled with a mix of emotions - excitement, sadness, joy, disbelief and the list goes on . .

We will hopefully be moving on Saturday.  We have to wait for the official "go ahead" until after our loan funds - that will most likely be Friday morning.  Jason and I both have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off of work, too - we will be cleaning and finishing up everything at 4840 Bonniebrook Drive!

Spring Training

Spring training has begun at the Roper Residence!  Jason told me to look out the window the other day to see Jackson giving baseball instruction to Hayden and Keaton.  What a hoot!

Jackson decided not to play Taylorsville Baseball this year.  He has started training at the Utah Baseball Academy.  He will be playing with the Highlanders!  His coach is Gary Pullins - a retired baseball coach from BYU.  Jackson is very excited to get instruction from Coach Pullins - even though he is a COUGAR!  We can overlook that he is a COUGAR - we are just glad he is actually getting some instruction this year!  Gary Pullins was inducted in the College Baseball Hall of Fame last year.  We feel very fortunate that Jackson has the opportunity of training with Coach Pullins.  His first tournament will be in Mesquite April 4 - 5.  We aren't sure if he will be able to make it due to our upcoming move.

Hayden will be playing on the Boston Red Sox this year.  He is very excited and has already started practice!  This will be a new venture for Hayden - he has now moved up to "kid pitch".  He is used to "coach pitch".

Keaton is the bat boy and practices his batting technique with anything and everything he can find.  He is always swinging a water bottle, a stick - whatever he has in his hand, he is swinging it!  Keaton's favorite thing to do after school everyday is to get the bucket of balls, his bat and his helmet and head for the backyard.  What a kid!

PRICELESS!

After waiting all day, Jim's flight finally arrived last night around 10:25 p.m.  My heart was pounding as we all waited for him to walk through the terminal - I can imagine how Annie was feeling!  This brought back alot of memories and emotions!  It was so exciting and PRICELESS seeing Jim meet his son for the first time!   It was great seeing their little family together!  I hope they have a WONDERFUL 15 days together!

Meet Ryan Nielson

Baby Ryan just couldn't wait for his Daddy to get home from Iraq!  Ryan was born on Sunday, March 2 at 5:14 p.m. weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long.  My brother-in-law, Casey drove down to the hospital to set up a webcam.  Unfortunately, Jim was not able to access the site because the military has such tight restrictions for their Internet.  So Jim missed it!  I felt so bad for both Jim and Annie.  But they have great attitudes about it and Jim should arrive in Salt Lake City tonight!  What a great reunion it will be!  I am so happy for them!  Baby Ryan is such a cutie!
